Sara + Christina Gray

“Never Give Up” - Original Mandala created by My Loving daughter Sara K. Gray Replicated by Sara K’s mom (Christina Gray)

About this piece: Sara is so much more to me than just my daughter. She is an amazing Artist, a loving caring kind soul, and my best friend. Sara was a beautiful girl inside and out. Sara loved drawing and spending time with her family and friends. Art was such an important part of Sara’s life. She excelled in her art classes at Livonia High School and loved her art teacher . Sara had several pieces of art shown at local fairs where she won some first place prizes on them . Sara could put a mandala design on paper right from her head that would amaze me . So precise and meticulous . Just so beautiful. Sara was such a fighter as she battled cancer for fourteen months. During this time she never gave up or showed any weakness. I would always tell her “You are my Hero” . I remember crying one day as we received some bad news and she looked at me and said Mom pull it together! At this moment I realized this girl is the strongest person I have ever known! As Sara battled with this disease, she expressed herself through art. Sara created beautiful pieces. Sara is and will always be my amazing talented daughter. Sara wanted to do this art project herself but never got the chance to put it on canvas before losing her battle with cancer. Knowing how excited Sara was to do this project I knew in my heart I had to complete it in her honor. This was the best project by far that I have ever worked on. I feel comfort in knowing that Sara is looking down smiling at me saying "go mom I’m so proud of you”! Sara and I shared such a love for art ! Sara you are and will always be my hero!

Love, Mom
